Playing Music for Baby

Bringing together the young and young at heart

Play is Ageless

Intergenerational Playgroup brings together the young and young at heart – to build connections through play. Our volunteer run group meets weekly at Castlemaine’s West End Hall on Friday mornings to share a cuppa and take part in unstructured play including music, art, story time and wherever the imagination takes us!

Our Story

Banksia Buds started in 2021 by new mum Gretel and baby Lucy. She was inspired by ABC's 'Old People's Home for 4yr Olds' and a desire for her daughter to build relationships with an older generation being far away from grandparents.

Our hope for this playgroup is to foster awareness, understanding and respect between generations, and break down social barriers and isolation commonly experienced by new parents and ageing communities. And most importantly, make new friends and have fun!
